This is a half day adventure not to be missed! Explore the Dominican countryside and jungles while driving through its off-road on a four wheeler or buggy to the impressive Macao beach. After a convenient pickup from your hotel will be taken to the zipline facilities which span over 247 acres (100 hectares) in southern Punta Cana. After a safety briefing from specialized instructors, you'll be provided with all the necessary equipment to conquer the air along a series of double-cable zip-lines through the treetop canopy. Speed up to a dizzying 40 miles (64 km) per hour, on cables stretching as long as 1,378 feet and as high as 148 feet (45 meters).You'd better not blink as your eyes scan those views of the jaw-dropping resort grounds and the glittering multi-blue-tone Caribbean Sea.

While moving to the next set of platforms, you’ll have the opportunity to test your courage climbing a suspension bridge. At that point it will be time to slow down your pumping heart on four ecological trails and learn from onsite guides about the native plants and wildlife that you will spot along the way; around that time you'll take a break for lunch which is included.

After the break, the guide will lead you into a humid forest micro-climate to visit the famous Hoyo Azul, a natural lagoon of crystalline, azure waters at the base of a towering cliff and a true sight to behold! This will be your chance to take a dip in the fresh waters, fed from an underground reservoir. Participants will be able to jump in and enjoy the Blue Lagoon.

If you want to learn about the culture in the Dominican this is THE tour for you. We absolutely loved getting out and seeing places that were beyond our resort! Andy was a great guide and answered all of our questions. And our driver was amazing -- I still have no idea how he navigated all those hills and steep declines.

A fascinating, fun and educational day spent traveling through and stopping off at places surrounding the Punta Cana region in an open back truck. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire day and would recommend this trip to anyone. Youll learn about and sample the produce of the region. Everything from roasting coffee and cacao/cocoa, cigars, sugar cane, vanilla, pineapples, bananas, mangos, homemade chocolate and much more! Youll also have a chance to sample the famous mamajuana liquor and maybe some pineapple wine! With options to purchase some locally produced co-op things to take home. The plantation is incredible! It also had wonderfully clean WC facilities.

Youll also learn about the plantation owner, his family and see their prime example of a traditional Dominican house. We also travelled to a lodge high in the rainforest hills for a delicious home cooked Dominican lunch. Then back into the city of Higuey for a guided tour inside the large cathedral there -Basílica Catedral Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia!

For the last stop of the day we went to Macao beach, further west down the coast from Bavaro/Punta Cana. Here we did some body-boarding in the lovely blue surf, boards provided. All in all an amazing day, full of activities, things to see/do, learn about, sample and just take in a more authentic side of this wondrous country, its rich culture and lovely people. The travel duration isnt too much, as the whole day is hop on/off style and theres plenty to see en route. Refreshments, including soft drinks, beer and rum were served throughout the day by the truck driver and guide. This is the second time I have done this trip, it seems seasonally different each time. Last time we also visited a rural school, this time was during schools holidays. I would definitely do this trip again and recommend it to anyone new to, or a returning traveller to this region.

Fantastic tour, I would highly recommend this trip. No pressure to purchase anything or even tip. The guide and the driver were both great fun and very informative. The food was pretty good and drinks were offered regularly. A real MUST!

Leaving Punta Cana behind, you'll travel through the Dominican Republic's scenic countryside on your way towards Anumaya. Constructed by the same professionals who built a canopy tour in Costa Rica, the original home of rainforest zipline tours, the Dominican Republic zipline park is just as attractive! Upon arrival, you'll be briefed by trained professionals on the how to use the zipline equipment and how to move across the cables. Your safety is the top priority!
